In the over seventeen year span of her legal career, Jasmina has tackled a broad range of litigation categories, from high-profile constitutional challenges to business disputes involving closely-held entities. She is familiar with business torts, corporate governance, fiduciary obligations, unfair competition, non-compete agreements, real estate disputes, litigation relating to governmental regulation and more. In 1998, Jasmina earned her Juris Doctor, Magna Cum Laude, from the University of Illinois College of Law. During law school, Jasmina worked as an academic advisor counseling undergraduate students. Those years of advising students proved to be valuable experience which served Jasmina well in her professional life. Always searching for opportunities to broaden her world perspective, during law school Jasmina participated in a Summer study abroad program in Madrid, Spain where she studied European civil and commercial law and practice. She earned her Bachelor of Arts, majoring in Political Science, from the University of Illinois at Chicago.Entrepreneurship
Having been raised by immigrant entrepreneurs, Jasmina always had empathy for the concerns and challenges facing small business owners. Now that she has spent time successfully owning and managing her family business, she can truly say that she has walked in her clients’ shoes. Jasmina can knowledgably advise clients on entity formation, payroll, human resources issues, supplier relationships, leasing negotiations, marketing and more. Jasmina is fluent in Spanish and Serbian, conversant in French and has studied German, Russian and Greek. Her travels include trips throughout Europe, Latin America and Asia. She and her family lived in Paris, France for a year; immersing themselves in all things European. Now back in her hometown, Jasmina spends her free time watching, playing and coaching soccer or at the sidelines of one of the five sports her children play.
