Misty J. CyganAssociate
Misty is an Air Force veteran who earned her J.D. from Nova Southeastern University, Shepard Broad Law Center in 2007. Misty was highly active while in law school and was chosen to participate in the highly selective ILSA Journal of International & Comparative Law. An animal-lover at heart, Misty also served on the Student Animal Legal Defense Fund (SALDF) as Secretary.
Misty earned her two undergraduate degrees while being on active duty in the military. She graduated summa cum laude from North Carolina Wesleyan College with dual degrees in Criminal Justice and Psychology.
Misty served four years in the United States Air Force, where, as a Maintenance Production Manager, she oversaw a fleet of 24 aircraft and was responsible for producing a weekly flight schedule and all aircraft maintenance.
Misty is licensed to practice law in Illinois and Florida. Originally from Lake Geneva, Wisconsin, Misty returned to the area in 2007 to practice law.

- Successfully defended an appeal by a majority shareholder of Exelon Enterprises Company who sought to dismiss a lawsuit filed by minority shareholders alleging breach of fiduciary duties in connection with the corporation's merger. Carpenter v. Exelon Enterprises Company and Exelon Corporation, 399 Ill.App. 330 (1st Dist. 010).
